DELF Junior/Scolaire is a diploma issued by the French Ministry of National Education, recognizing French-language studies. While it shares the basic structure with the standard DELF, the topics are tailored to the interests of young people. It is designed for children aged 12 to 18. If children are younger than 12, they can write the DELF Prim.
DELF exams are globally recognized and provide a lifelong valid diploma for your child. The awarded diploma is identical to the standard DELF certificate. It is widely implemented in Alberta and across Canada, offering independent registration for candidates. The exams assess the four communication skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The DELF Scolaire and DELF Junior exams follow the same structure and assess language proficiency equally. However, they differ in administration and candidate eligibility.
DELF Scolaire is organized within schools, either on-site or at AFC, and is specifically designed for students enrolled in those schools. On
the other hand, DELF Junior accepts individual candidates who are not taking DELF Scolaire through their school.

The DELF exams take place at Alliance Française of Calgary (AFC): #350, 1721 29 Avenue SW, Calgary AB T2T 6T7
or at your school if this has been organized with your school.
If you have a disability or a condition that may require specific accommodations, please inform AFC before registration. All
requests for accommodations must be accompanied by supporting documents (doctor's note of less than 2 years to specify the
nature of the situation and which arrangements must be made to ensure you take the exam in optimal conditions).
A non-refundable $75 fee will be charged in the event of rescheduling before the registration deadline. No refund or change of test date
will be accepted if received after the registration deadline.
IMPORTANT: No refund is possible once you are registered for the
exam. We advise candidates to register only if they are certain to write the test on the chosen date.
An official certificate of results will be available from 8 to 12 weeks
after the test. Your official diploma will be available for pick-up 6 months after the date of the exam.

An official invitation including the schedule will be sent by email to the school coordinator a few days before the exam. The
schedule of the speaking examination will be given in the official invitation and will usually take place later in the day.
Candidates must be available all day for the exam.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the examination starts. You will not be granted access to the room after the examination starts.

If your school is interested in offering the DELF exams, please contact us at education@afcalgary.ca. We will be happy to guide you through the available options and help determine the best plan for you.
Once everything is confirmed, we will prepare a partnership agreement and provide your school with a dedicated registration link. This link is exclusive to your school and should only be shared with your students.
Before registering, students should carefully review the exam information to ensure they select the exam that best matches their goals. The Alliance Française of Calgary cannot be held responsible for an incorrect exam selection. Please note that registrations cannot be accepted after the published registration deadline.
To complete the registration, payment must be made on the page that appears after submitting the registration form. If your school is covering the registration fees, payment can be made once all students have registered, either by invoice or over the phone.
If your school is covering only part of the registration fee, that is also possible. Simply let us know in advance and ask your students to call us after they have submitted their registration form so we can arrange the payment.
For those aiming to take the DELF B1 or B2 exam, we recommend the Prepmyfuture platform for preparation. It offers comprehensive resources and practice materials for a fee of $80. This step is optional but could significantly enhance your readiness for the exam.
