Join us for an evening with Fatoumata Kébé — astrophysicist, author, and science communicator — for an engaging conversation on the universe, science, and the ways knowledge can open new paths. Presented by the Alliance Française of Calgary as part of Nuit des Idées 2026, organized by the Institut français, this special program will explore Kébé’s work to make astrophysics accessible to wider audiences.

Fatoumata Kébé will share insights from her scientific work, as well as her writing, including her latest book, Au-delà du ciel. The conversation will also explore the connections between astronomy, ecology, and our environment, offering an opportunity to consider how looking beyond Earth can help us reflect on the world we inhabit. The evening includes a talk followed by audience Q&A.

The event will be conducted in English and French, and will be moderated by Rachid Ouyed, Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary,
