On Friday, April 12 th at 6 p.m., join our cultural assistant Brianne at Alliance Française Calgary at cSPACE for an evening in french dedicated to the famous Florentine painter and inventor. Discover the world of the artist, his life, his work and his link with France!

On Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 a.m., continue the experience on the next day. Let's meet at the Telus park to get immersed in Leonard Da Vinci artwork with the exhibition " Da Vinci The Exhibition" in english.

Today, millions of people come to admire the Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum in Paris every year, but what is the history of this painting? How did Da Vinci end up in France, where he died in 1519? Biographie | Biography. 

Leonardo da Vinci est un homme très polyvalent, passant d'artiste à ingénieur ou encore philosophe. Il marque le 15e siècle et continuera d'influencer nombre d'ingénieur et d'artistes par la suite. Il nait dans la ville de Florence en Italie et étudiera dans l’atelier d’Andrea del Verrochio avec d’autres artistes tel que le peintre Boticceli que l’on connait principalement pour son tableau la naissance de Vénus. Il fréquentera la cour italienne  mais aussi française. Son œuvre la plus connue est la Joconde mais il s’illustrera également dans le domaine de l’ingénierie avec notamment le Codex Atlanticus. Il arrive en France en 1516 et y passera ses dernières années.

Leonardo da Vinci was a man of many talents, from artist to engineer to philosopher. He left his mark on the 15th century and went on to influence many engineers and artists. Born in Florence, Italy, he studied in Andrea del Verrochio's studio alongside other artists such as Boticceli, best known for his painting The Birth of Venus. He frequented both Italian and French courts. His best-known work is the Mona Lisa, but he also made a name for himself in the field of engineering, notably with the Codex Atlanticus. He arrived in France in 1516, where he spent his last years. last years
