Un peu de vélo?

Speak French & pedal!

On Sunday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m., join the AFC team for a a bike ride on the Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A).
The Bow Valley Parkway is the scenic road connecting Banff to Lake Louise in Banff National Park and during the month of September, it will be closed to cars which offers bikers an incredible experience to enjoy the Rockies! With spectacular mountain scenery and excellent wildlife spotting opportunities, the Bow Valley Parkway is a must-visit in Banff National Park.

Join us directly in Banff with your own bike or rent a bike in a bike shop in Banff (many options available, we use Snowtips-Bactrax). Prior to the event, you will receive a mail with all the information about the activity.

The trip is 50 km way and back. Please be prepared as there are some steeper sections.
We will leave Banff at 10:30 a.m. and we should arrive at Johnston Canyon at 12:30 a.m. for a picnic for one hour. We will then return to Banff at 1:30 p.m. for an estimated return at 3:30 p.m. These times are estimates only!

The Alliance Française of Calgary is pleased to organize many outdoors social activities but we ask that all participants be mindful of their skills and the level of risk involved. Biking in the mountains, like other outdoor activities involve a risk of injury. The AFC is not a sports organization and we ask that every participant come prepared (i.e. with his own personal insurance). A waiver will be sent to all participants prior to the activity.
