Join us on Wednesday, June 26th at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of "Le Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu", a film directed by Céline Sciamma in 2019.
This story takes place in Brittany at the end of the 18th century. We follow the story of Marianne, a painter who is forced to pose as a lady's companion in order to paint the portrait of a young woman, Héloïse, who is being forced to marry a man she does not love. You will thus discover a beautiful but tragic story. This film won the Best Screenplay Award and the Queer Palm at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, as well as the César for Best Cinematography at the 2020 César Awards.
The screening will take place in the AFC library and is suitable for adults only. The film is in French with French subtitles. Spots are limited, so please register only if you plan to attend. This is a FREE activity exclusively reserved for AFC members
