Alliance Française Calgary - Contemporary dance show - La forêt ébouriffée

Dance & Theatre

Experience mesmerizing dance and theatre magic!

On Saturday, June 3 at 4 p.m., at la Cité des Rocheuses, join us for a contemporary dance and theatre show that's perfect for the whole family. The performance will take place at la Cité des Rocheuses, located at 4800 Richard Road SW. Choreographed and designed by Christian and François Ben Aïm, this captivating piece tells the story of Racine, a young boy who seeks refuge from his difficult life in a forest that exists only in his mind.

Synopsis : Racine is not a little boy like the others, nobody saw that in his head a forest had grown. Fleeing from a hostile grandmother and a distressing daily life, he runs to take refuge there. And it is in an invasive forest, changing according to his emotions that the little boy will live the most unexpected adventures, drawing little by little the path that leads him to himself.

Here, the universe of the choreographers intertwines with the singular imagination of Mélusine Thiry, author, illustrator and video artist. The scenographic setup and the videos allow a poetic journey between virtual images and moving bodies, for an immersion of the spectator in a sensitive and singular world.

The show is open to all ages six and up, and runs for 45 minutes.
Price: $10 for members or $20 for non-members (Tax not included)
