This class is for students who are complete beginners. In this class, we will cover basics, including but not limited to:

  • Discover French alphabet and numbers;
  • Learn to introduce yourself and someone else;

  • Learn about the most common verbs in French; 
  • Learn to ask questions;

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about one's family;

  • Describe one's home.

A1.3 Beginner

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to: .

  • Tell time and date;
  • Talk about one's hobbies and activities;

  • Make an invitation;
  • Talk about travelling.

A1.4 Beginner

Standard

In this class, students will continue practicing the important basics of French, including but not limited to: 

  • Ask and give directions;
  • Talk about shopping;
  • Learn about food; 
  • Express quantities;
  • Learn the futur proche and impératif tenses; 
  • Discover the passé composé tense. 

Material used: Défi 1, units 7 & 8.

Intensive Week A1

Intensive Week

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the A1 level. 

A1 level students understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. They can introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly. The A1 level is usually completed in 100 hours of instruction.

A2 Elementary

A2.1 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning basics in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Review the passé composé tense; 
  • Describe objects;
  • Use the relative pronouns; 
  • Present artists and inventions; 
  • Talk about health; 
  • Give advices.

Material used: Défi 2, units 1 & 2.


Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5 students or less)

A2.2 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talk about food and eating habits; 
  • Learn how to tell your opinions; 
  • Review the impératif tense; 
  • Talk about sports; 
  • Make recommendations. 
  • Learn about the futur simple and conditionnel tenses.

Material used: Défi 2, units 3 & 4.

A2.3 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about one's studies;

  • Talk about one's emotions; 
  • Use some modal verbs (devoir, pouvoir...).

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the A2 level.

A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written. The level A2 is usually completed within 120 hours of instruction.

The material is prepared by the teacher and provided at the beginning of the class.

B1.4 Independent

Standard

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:

Conversation

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the B1 level.

B1 level students can understand the main points of texts on familiar matters. They can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling to a French-speaking country and are able to describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes & plans. The level B1 is usually completed within 150 hours of instruction.

The material is prepared by the teacher and provided at the beginning of the class.

Our intensive weeks for adults are a great way to brush up on your skills in a fun and interactive setting! This level is available with different themes. You can choose to attend any week of this level or all of them as the material used each week will be different.
LOCATION: Classes will be held at our cSPACE campus unless health restrictions do not allow it. Then classes would be migrated online!

Note: The length of the course will be reduced to 12.5 hours if 4 students or less register.
