A1 Discovery

A0 Slow-pace introduction to French

Standard

Anxious about learning a new language? Try our optional French Introduction Class! This is a slow-pace discovery of the French language for learners who want to take it easy! Complete beginners have the choice between 2 options A0 for a light introduction to the language (12 hours) or A1.1 for a regular standard class (24 hours). After you complete the A1.0 level, students are able to join the A1.1 level.

A1.1 Complete Beginner

Standard

This class is for students who have never taken French classes in the past and who are complete beginners. In this class, we will cover basics, including but not limited to:

  • Discover French alphabet and numbers;
  • Learn to greet people and use polite expressions;
  • Learn to introduce yourself and someone else;
  • Talk about countries and traditions
  • Learn to ask questions;
  • Express likes and dislikes

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

A1.2 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to: .

  • Talk about and describe their family
  • Talk about nationalities
  • Describe appearance and character;
  • Talk about and describe your home and furnitures

A1.3 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to: .

  • Talk about your daily routine;
  • Tell time and date;
  • Describing people;
  • Talk about leisures and activities;
  • Talk about internet and social media;
  • Make an invitation (accept or refuse);
  • Talk about travelling.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

A1.4 Beginner

Standard

In this class, students will continue practicing the important basics of French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talk about cities, ask for and give directions;
  • Talk about shops, transports, clothes and accessories;
  • Talk about food and groceries;
  • Express quantities;
  • Explain a recipe;
  • Talk about your food experiences.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

Intensive Week A1

Intensive Week

The A1 level is completed in 96 hours. A1 level students understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. They can introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly.

A2 Elementary

A2.1 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning basics in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talk about your consumption pattern
  • Describe objects
  • Present artists and inventions
  • Give your opinion about health
  • Explain symptoms and talk about a sickness
  • Give advices

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

A2.2 Elementary

Standard

In this class, you will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talk about your food habits
  • Talk about a dish and describe it (5 senses)
  • Tell your opinion
  • Talk about your sport habit
  •  Make a recommendation  
  • Discuss about values in sport.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

A2.3 Elementary

Standard

In this class, you will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about your studies and formation
  • Talk about new pedagogy
  • Tell a wish, talk about your future project
  • Talk about your emotions
  • Talk about innovative projects (job and enterprise)
  • Be ready for an interview.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

A2.4 Elementary

Standard

In this class, you will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

  • Describe a building and a neighborhood
  • Compare before and after
  • Talk about your artistic taste
  • Present a movie or a book ang give your opinion
  • Share your reasons to travel
  • Talk about vacations and how to prepare a trip
  • Tell a past vacation.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

Grammaire & Conversation A2

Standard

The level A2 is completed within 120 hours. A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written.

Intensive Week A2

The level A2 is completed within 120 hours. A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written.

Standard

In this class, students will brush up their French, develop their ability to speak and practice to:

  • Tell a story past tense
  • Talk about your dreams, wishes and projects
  • Talk about happiness
  • Express your discontent
  • Evoke/mention memories.

B1.2 Independent

Standard

In this class, students will brush up their French, develop their ability to speak and practice to:

  • Talk and debate about traditions
  • Talk about stereotypes
  • Talk about languages
  • Express your feeling
  • Give advices and recommandations
  • Tell a story
  • Express your opinion, agree or disagree with something
  • Make hypotheses.

Pace: 24 hours / 21 hours

The level B2 is completed within 200 hours. B2 level students understand the main ideas of complex text. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity and are able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.

Standard

In this class, students will improve their French and:

  • Talk about professionnals skills
  • Talk about management
  • Ask formals questions
  • Introduce an enterprise
  • Debate about uberisation
  • Talk about artisanat and art
  • Give an opinion about an art piece
  • Talk about recent news.

B2.4 Advanced

Standard

In this class, students will improve their French and:

  • Talk about french language
  • Argue and structure a speech

Our intensive weeks for adults are a great way to brush up on your skills in a fun and interactive setting! This level is available with different themes. You can choose to attend any week of this level or all of them as the material used each week will be different.
LOCATION: Classes will be held at our cSPACE campus unless health restrictions do not allow it. Then classes would be migrated online!

Note: The length of the course will be reduced to 12.5 hours if 4 students or less register.
