A1.1 Complete Beginner
This course is designed for complete beginners or those who want to start learning French from scratch. We will cover the basics of French language, including but not limited to:
- Discovering the French alphabet, as well as numbers
- Learning how to introduce yourself and someone else
- Learning how to greet people and use polite expressions
- Talking about countries and traditions
- Familiarizing yourself with the most common verbs in French
- Learning how to ask questions
- Expressing your likes and dislikes
The course material will be based on Défi 1, units 0, 1 & 2.
Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)
B1.2 Independent
In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:
- Talking about traditions and tales
- Learning how to tell stories
- Talking about languages, including the French language
- Learning about the subjonctif présent tense
- Expressing opinions and making hypotheses
The course material will be based on Défi 3, units 2 & 3.
Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)
B1.3 Independent
In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:
- Talk about shows, films and entertainment
- Learn about the pronoun dont
- Summarize the plot of a story
- Learn about the subjonctif passé tense
- Talk about technologies and the connected world
The course material will be based on Défi 3, units 4 & 5.
Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)
B1.4 Independent
In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:
- Talking about news and media
- Learning about the forme passive
- Talking about ecology and the environment
- Expressing worries and fears
- Describing cause and effect
The course material will be based on Défi 3, units 6 & 7.
Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)
B1.5 Independent
In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:
- Talking about inequalities and protests
- Reviewing the conditionnel présent and subjcontif tense
- Learning about the conditionnel passé tense
- Talking about human rights and solidarity
The course material will be based on Défi 3, units 8 & 9.
