Our A0 Intro Course is the perfect starting point for complete beginners who want to learn at a slow and steady pace. Designed to provide a relaxed and supportive learning environment, this course will help you master the basics of French without feeling overwhelmed.

Alternatively, if you're comfortable with a regular beginner's pace, our A1.1 Complete Beginner course is also available. Our expert instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of French, helping you develop the skills you need to succeed no matter which course you choose.

A1.1 Complete Beginner

Standard

This course is designed for complete beginners or those who want to start learning French from scratch. We will cover the basics of French language, including but not limited to:

  • Discovering the French alphabet, as well as numbers
  • Learning how to introduce yourself and someone else
  • Learning how to greet people and use polite expressions
  • Talking about countries and traditions
  • Familiarizing yourself with the most common verbs in French
  • Learning how to ask questions
  • Expressing your likes and dislikes

The course material will be based on Défi 1, units 0, 1 & 2.


Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)

A1.2 False Beginner

Standard

This course is designed for false beginners, or those who have previously been exposed to French but need a refresher. If you remember just a few things and want to improve your French skills, then this course is perfect for you. We will cover some basics of French language, including but not limited to:
Talking about one's family; 

  • Talking about family members
  • Discussing nationalities
  • Describing people's appearance and personality
  • Learning irregular verbs 
  • Using the phrase il faut correctly
  • Describing your living space

The course material will be based on Défi 1, units 3 & 4.


Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)

A1.3 Confident Beginner

Standard

This course is designed for false beginners who have previously been exposed to French and can recall some basic expressions and verbs. Through this class, you will build on your existing knowledge and learn essential fundamentals of French language, such as:

  • Discussing your daily routine
  • Describing time and date
  • Sharing your hobbies and activities
  • Using reflexive verbs
  • Inviting others for an event or occasion
  • Talking about travelling

The course material will be based on Défi 1, units 5 & 6.


Pace: 24 hours or 20 hours for small groups (5-6 students)

A1.4 Strong Beginner

Standard

This course is perfect for false beginners who have some familiarity with French and are ready to learn other tenses beyond present tense. In this class, you will continue practicing important basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Asking for and giving directions
  • Talking about shopping
  • Exploring the different types of food
  • Expressing quantities and masurements
  • Learning the futur proche and impératif tenses
  • Discovering the passé composé tense for talking about the past

The course material will be based on Défi 1, units 7 & 8.

Conversation Group A1

Conversation

Join our French conversation class at the A1 level (A1.2 and above) and improve your ability to communicate in French! Our one-hour lunchtime class is perfect for busy students with limited time who want to improve their speaking skills in a friendly atmosphere. In this class, you will:

  • Explore the basic structure of conversations in French
  • Enrich your vocabulary by discussing familiar topics
  • Practice using common phrases and basic grammar rules
  • Improve your speaking skills in a supportive environment 

The class size is limited to 8 participants and the material is provided at the start of each class.

Phonetics Clinic for A1

Pronunciation

Designed for all A1 level learners, including complete beginners, this class focuses on key phonetic concepts essential for mastering French sounds and accents.Highlights:

Pronunciation Practice: Dive into the nuances of French pronunciation, from mastering the tricky "r" sounds to distinguishing between the various accents found in France, Quebec, and beyond.

Nasal Sounds: Develop a clear understanding of French nasal vowels through intreactive targeted exercises.

Accent and Intonation: Explore the musicality of the French language by practicing different accents and intonations, enhancing your ability to understand and be understood by native speakers.

Each session comes with tailored materials provided by your teacher.

With 3 hours of class every morning, our experienced instructor will guide you through a comprehensive review of A1-level concepts, suitable for A1.2 students and above. You can also combine this course with any other A1 level class to create a personalized learning experience.

Immerse yourself in French language and culture in our fun and inclusive learning environment, where you'll gain confidence in speaking and listening. To ensure individual attention and support, we limit class sizes to just eight students. On the first day of class, you'll receive all the necessary course materials.
