Join us on Wednesday, July 26th at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of "Les parapluies de Cherbourg", a musical film, directed by Jacques Demy in 1964.
The film follows the bittersweet romance between two young lovers. Against the backdrop of colorful umbrellas and vibrant cinematography, Geneviève, a beautiful shopgirl, falls deeply in love with Guy, a handsome mechanic. However, their love is put to the test when he is unexpectedly drafted to fight in the Algerian War. Separated by circumstances, the two lovers must navigate their way through heartbreak, missed opportunities, and the passage of time. A visually stunning and emotionally resonant film.
The screening will take place in the AFC library and is suitable for adults only. The film is in French with English subtitles. Spots are limited, so please register only if you plan to attend. This is a FREE activity exclusively reserved for AFC members
