Movie Night

Enjoy a French movie with us!

Join us on Wednesday, June 28th at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of "Simone, le voyage du siècle", a biographical film about French politician, human rights activist and Holocaust survivor Simone Veil, directed by Olivier Dahan in 2022.

The film tells the story of Simone Veil (then Simone Jacob), from her childhood in the south of France with her sisters and brother in the 1930s, her teenage years spent in the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Bergen-Belsen death camps, to her work as one of France's most emblematic female politician and her fight for women's rights. Discover this woman's fate through the defining events of the Twentieth century. An intimate, epic portrait of an extraordinary woman who eminently challenged and transformed her era: her humanist message is still burningly relevant today.

Please, be aware that this film features scenes from life in a nazi concentration camp, which may shock viewers.

The screening will take place in the AFC library and is suitable for adults only. The film is in French without subtitles. Spots are limited, so please register only if you plan to attend. This is a FREE activity exclusively reserved for AFC members
