The Alliance Française of Calgary is delighted to welcome Kim Thúy, an acclaimed author known for her poetic and deeply moving narratives that explore themes of identity, migration, and memory.
Join us on Thursday, May 28th, at 6:30 pm in the Treehouse on the 3rd floor of cSpace for an engaging discussion in French. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet Kim Thúy and discover her literary journey and creative process.
Kim Thúy is celebrated for her evocative and intimate writing style, weaving personal history with universal themes of displacement, resilience, and belonging. Among her most notable works are:
- Ru: A critically acclaimed novel recounting her experience as a Vietnamese refugee, blending fragments of memory with elegance and sensitivity.
- Vi: A powerful novel that follows the journey of a young Vietnamese refugee navigating life between cultures.
- Mãn: A poetic story about love, tradition, and Vietnamese culture.
