Alliance Française Calgary - Soirée - Art au fil de l'Histoire

What do you really know about Art through the ages?

>  Soirée Découverte

The Alliance Française of Calgary warmly invites you to an unforgettable evening hosted by Diane McNeele, novelist and passionate storyteller on a brand-new voyage through art history.

After a wonderful first evening exploring Medieval Art and the early secrets of perspective through fun, hands-on exercises, the journey continues.

Join us for the second conference in the series: The Story of Art – The Renaissance.
This time, we step into one of the most fascinating periods in history, when art, science, and beauty were reborn. We will discover the great masters of the Renaissance and the revolutionary ideas that changed painting forever.

You’ll also explore the famous debate born in this era: drawing versus colour — line or emotion, structure or sensation? Through stories, images, and lively discussion, art history becomes vivid and accessible to everyone.

And because no French-inspired evening would be complete without it, we’ll end with wine, cheese, and charcuterie. Come for the art, stay for the atmosphere, and share a memorable cultural evening.

Please note: this event will be presented in French and is for ADULTS only.
