What do you really know about Art through the ages?
> Soirée Découverte
The Alliance Française of Calgary warmly invites you to an unforgettable evening with Diane McNeele, professional storyteller and acclaimed author, on a brand-new voyage through art history.
This first Art Through the Ages invites you back to Antiquity, where art was raw, symbolic, and anything but naive. In just 40 minutes, we’ll explore how early civilizations represented the world long before the rules we take for granted today existed. From almost “primitive” forms to powerful visual codes, Antiquity laid the foundations of all Western art. Through three key lenses — perspective, drawing, and color — you’ll discover how French artists learned to see, shape, and color the world. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious, this first conference will change how you look at ancient art.
Please note: this event will be presented in French and is for ADULTS only.
