Join the talented painter Patricia Lortie at the Alliance Française for a painting workshop in French. In this session, we will explore the technique of Peinture Mystère — paint what you see without knowing what it is. Participants will engage in this intuitive exercise that challenges you to truly observe, avoiding the part of your brain that assumes how things should look from taking over.

This event is limited to 12 participants and is open to those aged 15 and above.
The workshop will last 1 hour and 30 minutes. Materials will be provided by our instructor, but you are welcome to bring your own painting supplies. Enjoy a glass of wine (for adults) while letting your creativity flow!

A well-established Calgary artist, Patricia Lortie began teaching 20 years ago for financial stability but continues today out of passion—fostering a love for art and seeing her students thrive. She exhibits her work in commercial and public galleries across Western Canada. Her practice explores natural systems, inspiring abstract creations in painting, video, digital art, installations, and sculpture. Her touring exhibition Les Gardiens features large tree-like sculptures made from recycled cardboard.
