We invite you to apply for the AFC Bursary, a program designed to support families and individuals facing financial challenges. Our goal is to make learning French accessible to everyone with a passion for the language. As a local non-profit organization deeply rooted in our community, Alliance Française Calgary is committed to supporting all learners in their French language journey.
The AFC Bursary aims to recognize and support motivated young learners eager to engage in French language education.
This year, bursaries may cover up to 100% of tuition fees for one session of group classes (up to 20 hours) starting in September,
and are open to children aged 7 to 15. Please note: Textbooks are not included in the bursary. The bursary does not
apply to other types of classes, including summer camps.
Bursaries are awarded based on financial need and demonstrated interest, with a maximum of 10 recipients per year. Due to limited availability, not all applicants can be accommodated.
While AFC is dedicated to offering these bursaries to as many individuals as possible, availability is limited to 10 recipients per year, and the program may reach capacity.
The next round of bursaries will be offered for the September 2025 or January 2026 sessions. While we would love to offer this program more frequently, its continuation depends on available funding and decisions made by our Board of Directors. Several factors, including financial capacity and community needs, will be considered.
For updates on future bursary opportunities or to learn more, please contact our team at 403-245-5662.
To check the current availability of bursaries, please contact our office at 403-245-5662, as they may no longer be available.
Please complete all required fields in the form below. Applications that include thorough and detailed information are more likely to be successful. Submitting the form does not guarantee a bursary, as all applications are subject to review by our bursary committee..
Applicants will be notified of the decision within 4 weeks.
