A1.1 Complete Beginner

Standard

This class is for students who are complete beginners. In this class, we will cover basics, including but not limited to:

  • Discover French alphabet and numbers;
  • Learn to introduce yourself and someone else;
  • Learn to greet people and use polite expressions;
  • Talk about countries and traditions;
  • Learn about the most common verbs in French; 
  • Learn to ask questions;
  • Express likes and dislikes.

Material used: Défi 1, units 0, 1 & 2.

A1.2 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about one's family; 
  • Talk about nationalities;
  • Describe appearance and character;
  • Learn about irregular verbs; 
  • Learn about the structure il faut
  • Describe one's home.

Material used: Défi 1, units 3 & 4.

A1.3 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about your daily routine;
  • Tell time and date;
  • Talk about one's hobbies and activities; 
  • Use the reflexive verbs;
  • Make an invitation;
  • Talk about travelling.

Material used: Défi 1, units 5 & 6.

A1.4 Beginner

Standard

In this class, students will continue practicing the important basics of French, including but not limited to: 

  • Ask and give directions;
  • Talk about shopping;
  • Learn about food; 
  • Express quantities;
  • Learn the futur proche and impératif tenses; 
  • Discover the passé composé tense.

A2 Elementary

A2.1 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning basics in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Review the passé composé tense; 
  • Describe objects;
  • Use the relative pronouns; 
  • Present artists and inventions; 
  • Talk about health; 
  • Give advices.

Material used: Défi 2, units 1 & 2.

A2.2 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talk about food and eating habits; 
  • Learn how to tell your opinions; 
  • Review the impératif tense; 
  • Talk about sports; 
  • Make recommendations. 
  • Learn about the futur simple and conditionnel tenses.

Material used: Défi 2, units 3 & 4.

A2.3 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about one's studies; 
  • Talk about one's job and professional experiences; 
  • Learn about présent continu and passé récent
  • Talk about one's emotions; 
  • Use some modal verbs (devoir, pouvoir...).

A2.4 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about architecture and city life; 
  • Give your opinion about a book or a film; 
  • Learn about the imparfait tense; 
  • Talk about travelling experiences; 
  • Learn about participe présent and gérondif.

Café-Presse A2

Conversation

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the A2 level.

A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written. The level A2 is usually completed within 120 hours of instruction.

The material is prepared by the teacher and provided at the beginning of the class.


Pace: 12 hours or 10 hours for small groups (5 students or less)

Grammaire & Conversation A2

Standard

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the A2 level.

A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written. The level A2 is usually completed within 120 hours of instruction.

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:

  • Summarize the plot of a story;

  • Talk about technologies and the connected world.

B1.4 Independent

Standard

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:

B1.5 Independent

Standard

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:

    • Talk about inequalities and protests; 
    • Review the conditionnel présent and subjcontif tense;
    • Learn about the conditionnel passé tense; 
    • Talk about human rights and solidarity.

Conversation

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are a great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the B2 level.

B2 level students can understand the main ideas of most complex texts. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity and are able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects. The level B2 is usually completed within 200 hours of instruction.

The material is prepared by the teacher and provided at the beginning of the class.

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about body standards in society; 
  • Review the doubles ponoms
  • Learn about the futur antérieur tense;

B2.3 Advanced - Défi part 3

Standard

In this class, students will develop their language skills, including but not limited to:
