Why learn French
Our courses are focused on conversational French with active participation in classes limited to 6 to 12 students. They are based on interactive activities to make learning French a fun and successful experience.
Our teaching philosophy is in line with the the CEFRL (Common European Framework of reference for Languages), the premier international standard adopted by the best language schools around the world. The Alliance Française centers are the only language schools worldwide accredited by the French government.
Our experienced and qualified teachers remain at your service throughout your learning process. They will speak as much French as possible in the classroom to immerse yourself with the language.
Students have opportunities to practice French outside of the classroom through our cultural events. The Alliance Française is offering an immersive French experience: from learning French to speaking Fench with many different people during our cultural activities
Our group courses start at $14/hour (and our courses are tax-deductible).
We offer a wide range of courses: standard, grammar, conversation, literature, culture... We teach classes to a diverse public: adults, children, corporate and government employees, group classes, private classes... Our teacher and our support staff are always commited to offer you the best experience possible in your learning French.
Being a member of the Alliance francaise gives access to a large range of cultural and fun activities to practice French among which: conversation meetups, wine tastings, movie screenings, book-clubs, theme nights, café-croissants, etc.
The Alliance Française is home to the largest all-French resource center in Alberta! More than 8,000 items including novels, DVDs, essays, magazines...
More than 500 items from level A1 to level C2 in the French Learner Library to help students during the learning process (acitivity books on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary...).
