From February 16th to 27th, we are delighted and proud to held an online Marathon de Lecture / Read-a-Thon addressed to Canadian pupils.
With the objective to promote the pleasure of reading, the project will also be placed under the sign of solidarity.
With each page read, funds will be collected and then given to the UNICEF program “For a Safe School”, which will make education more accessible for Burkina Faso children.
The Read-a-Thon is meant to be both fun and civic-minded!
Pupils will have indeed one goal: read in French comics previously selected by our teachers, and accessible on Culturethèque, the biggest French e-library. The participation and the different pedagogic resources will be entirely free.
Our teachers will read a comic book during the event, with activities related to the book.
Children do not need to read the comic book before the event. Kids will then have the opportunity to enjoy a great selection of comic books from home with Culturethèque.
We offer different dates according to the age of the children.
Register for your age.
A Zoom link will be sent to participants 15 minutes before the session!
The Read-A-Thon is a joint initiative from French Embassy in Canada, the Canadian Association of immersion professionals (CAIP), the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT), and Canadian Parents for French (CPF) in connection with UNICEF Canada.
