The Alliance Française of Calgary is proud to present Tawazûn, an evening of music without borders, featuring the Illyes Ferfera Quartet at La Cité des Rocheuses.

Drawing inspiration from North African traditions, European harmonies, and the vibrant jazz scenes of North and South America, the quartet creates a dialogue of cultures through rhythm and improvisation. The result is a performance that is both rooted and contemporary, where heritage and innovation meet on stage.

Led by saxophonist and composer Illyes Ferfera, the quartet has performed on renowned stages and international festivals, gaining recognition for their ability to weave together multiple traditions into one coherent and powerful musical language. Their repertoire invites audiences to travel across continents, blending jazz improvisation with influences from Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

For Calgary audiences, Tawazûn offers the opportunity to experience world-class musicianship in an intimate setting, highlighting the richness of cultural exchange through music.

This concert is part of a Canadian tour organized in collaboration with the Alliance Française network, with stops in Toronto, Halifax, Moncton, Montréal, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.
