Atelier Bande Dessinée

Awaken the superhero in you!

On Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m., meet French authors William Augel and Bettina Egger. Discover their drawing style, their work and their awesome books. It will also be a great opportunity to learn how to draw with experts! 

They will share tips to draw a superhero comic strip, and you will go back home with your own creation! All drawing material will be provided by the Alliance Française. Just bring your creativity and your smile! 

This is a FREE activity for our members. The workshop is for parents+kids starting at 6 year-old! Spots are very limited.

The workshop will take place at our library. Members can also borrow the books before the event.

About the artists

Betina Egger was born in Austria. In 2000 she settled in France to pursue her artistic studies. In 2006 she was accepted in a Visual Arts Master's degree in Rennes (West France) and in 2007 she mainly dedicated her work to independent comic books. She took part in exhibition in France, Austria and Russia. She also supervised workshops in schools and after-school programs. She is currently an associate professor at the University of Alberta where she teaches comic books.


William Augel was born in France. Independent illustrator and drawing artist, he publishes comic books for youth and works regularly for magazines. Amongst his publications, Young Mozart (2017), Young Leonardo (2020) and The little Agatha Christie (2021) relate the adventures of these three famous artists during their childhood. In May 2022, he released Little Katherine Johnson, about the famous physicist.
