The run is open to all adults and teenagers (12+).

La French Run 5k consists of a fun and very runnable course in the historical Francophone neighbourhood of Calgary: Rouleauville (now
known as Mission). The trail will mainly go along the Elbow River and through the streets of Mission. As this is a short run,
there are no water stops—carry a water bottle if you think you'll need it!
For all participants: a medal, a tote bag, AFC goodies, a gift card from Yann Haute Pâtisserie
For the top 3 men and women: all of the above + a box of macarons from Yann Haute Pâtisserie AND a gift card from Black Sheep
For the top man and the top woman: all of the above + $300 credit at Alliance Française Calgary (towards class or activities)
For the overall winner: all of the above + a 30 day pass card at MNP Sport Centre (formerly Repsol)

Rouleauville is the historical French neighbourhood of Calgary that is now known as Mission. The first permanent French Catholic mission in
the area settled along the Bow River in 1883 as Notre Dame de la Paix. It was, for a time, the incorporated Village of Rouleauville
before it was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1907 and renamed the district of Mission. Originally, the missionaries sought to
establish peace between the colonists from eastern Canada, the Métis and the Indigenous peoples, particularly the Blackfoot. As well,
they aimed to develop health care, trade and Catholic religious education in French.
Rouleauville is named after the Rouleau brothers, two notable mission residents who had a major influence on the area. To learn more,
