Standard

This class is for students who are complete beginners. In this class, we will cover basics, including but not limited to:

  • Discovering the French alphabet, as well as numbers;
  • Learning to introduce yourself and someone else;
  • Learning to greet people and use polite expressions;
  • Talking about countries and traditions;
  • Learning about the most common verbs in French; 
  • Learning to ask questions;
  • Expressing likes and dislikes.

A1.2 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talking about one's family; 
  • Talking about nationalities;
  • Describing appearance and character;
  • Learning about irregular verbs; 
  • Learning about the structure il faut
  • Describing one's home.

A1.3 Beginner

Standard

This class is for false beginners. In this class, students will learn some basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talking about your daily routine;
  • Telling the time and date;
  • Talking about one's hobbies and activities; 
  • Using reflexive verbs;
  • Giving an invitation;
  • Talking about travelling.

Material used: Défi 1, units 5 & 6.

A1.4 Beginner

Standard

In this class, students will continue practicing important basics in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Asking for and giving directions;
  • Talking about shopping;
  • Learning about food; 
  • Expressing quantities;
  • Learning the futur proche and impératif tenses; 
  • Discovering the passé composé tense.

Intensive Week A1

Intensive Week

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are great practice for students who want to review or brush up their skills at the A1 level. 

A1 level students understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. They can introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly. The A1 level is usually completed in 100 hours of instruction.

A2 Elementary

A2.1 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning basics in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Reviewing the passé composé tense; 
  • Describing objects;
  • Using relative pronouns; 
  • Presenting artists and inventions; 
  • Talking about health; 
  • Giving advice.

A2.2 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing skills in French, including but not limited to: 

  • Talking about food and eating habits; 
  • Learning how to express your opinions; 
  • Reviewing the impératif tense; 
  • Talking about sports; 
  • Giving recommendations; 
  • Learning about the futur simple and conditionnel tenses.

A2.3 Elementary

Standard

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing skills in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talking about one's studies; 
  • Talking about one's job and professional experiences; 
  • Learning about présent continu and passé récent
  • Talking about one's emotions; 
  • Use some modal verbs (devoir, pouvoir...).

A2.4 Elementary

In this class, students will continue learning and practicing skills in French, including but not limited to:

  • Become more comfortable in conversations

Pace: 12 hours or 10 hours for small groups (5-6 students)

Grammaire & Conversation A2

Grammar & Conversation

Would you like to improve your grammatical skills in French? Join this Grammar & Conversation class to review concepts of French grammar through clear and simple explanations and lots of exercises. You will work on the common grammatical structures of your level to better communicate in French.

Students are encouraged to combine this class with our general courses to further their learning experience. Open to elementary students (A2.2 students or above).

The material is prepared by the teacher and provided at the beginning of the class.

Intensive Week A2

Intensive Week

These classes do not follow a specific curriculum. They are great practice for students who want to review or brush up on their skills at the A2 level.

A2 level students can understand and produce simple sentences about subjects of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) both orally and in written. The level A2 is usually completed within 120 hours of instruction.
