In this class, students will continue learning basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Talk about the importance of a problem
  • Explain causes and consequences
  • Express and defend a point of view
  • Describe ways of taking action
  • Talk about different cultures
  • Present points to support an opinion
  • Using metaphors

We will also focus on practicing grammar, specifically:

  • Expressions of consequence and concession
  • Expressions to give opinion
  • Ordinal numbers
  • Passive voice
  • Pronoun dont
  • Expressions of doubt and certitude

A2.1 - Part 2

In this class, students will continue learn basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Compare present and future
  • Talking about changes in life and history
  • Email communication
  • Talking about social subjects
  • Understand and analyse advertisements
  • Describe feelings
  • Express arguments for and against something

We will also focus on practicing grammar, specifically:

  • Past tense: imparfait
  • Comparative and superlative forms
  • Structures ne… pas encore / ne… plus, juste, seulement, ne… que
  • Adjectives ce, cet, cette
  • Pronouns celui-ci, celui-là, etc.
  • Adverbs trop, assez, pas assez
  • Direct pronouns

A2.1 - Part 3

In this class, students will continue learn basics in French, including but not limited to:

  • Tell a story in using past tenses
  • Structure oral or written story
  • Talk about the future
  • Discuss inventions and innovations
  • Make assumptions and talk about possibilities

We will also focus on practicing grammar, specifically:

  • Different tenses: passé composé, imparfait, passé récent, présent continu, futur simple
  • Indirect pronouns
  • Possessive pronouns : le mien, la mienne, etc.
  • Structures with si
  • Expressions c’est sûr, peut-être, je ne sais pas, aucune idée

A2.2 - Part 1

In this class, students will brush up their French and develop their ability to speak and:

  • Describing places
  • Expressing wishes
  • Talk about holiday activities
  • Describe a trip or a vacation
  • Talk about person’s character
  • Express feelings
  • Give advice or recommendation
  • Describe relations between people

We will also focus on practicing grammar, specifically:

  • Expressions je voudrais, j’aimerais, j’ai envie de, je rêve de
  • Prepositions of place: à, en, au, aux
  • Expressions of time: au mois de …, en …, de … à, tout le/toute la…
  • Past tense: passé composé with verbs avoir / être
  • Conditional mode
  • Pronominal verbs
  • Pronouns qui, que, où
  • Expressions of duration: il y a, depuis, ça fait
