Volunteering for Cultural Events
The Alliance Française a wide variety of cultural events every month and their success depends on the work of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers for events may be asked to :
- Set-up chairs and equipment
- Prepare for a wine a cheese reception
- Help clean-up glassware
- Sell tickets
Volunteers are always welcome at AFC events, whether to work them or not. We are pleased to offer free admission to our volunteers for most of our ticketed events.

CULTURAL EVENTS VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES FOR MAY
• Friday, May 14th from 4 – 5PM: We need help preparing for a lecture and a reception, as well as clean up afterwards.The Alliance is honoured to welcome the senator Claudette Tardiff for a lecture on Canadian Francophonie.

• Friday, May 15th from 6 – 7PM: Man a promotional stand for the
Alliance Française at the Calgary Philharmonic. We need help setting up the stand, answering questions on the Alliance and its programs, and packing up the stand. Tickets for two to the concert are included. Contact culture@afcalgary.ca
• Monday, May 25th to 29th, various dates and times: French language programming for the Calgary International Children’s Festival. The Festival is looking for hosts for their French language events. Contact kristin@calgarychildfest.org if you are interested.
• Saturday, May 29th from 1-2:30PM: Help with activities in French for
children organised at the Calgary International Children’s Festival in
partnership with the SPEFSA. The Alliance Française is pleased to present family activities before a show, Baobob, in French. Come volunteer as a family and stay for the show.

• Sunday, May 31st from 8AM to 4PM: We are looking for volunteers to
help for two hour shifts for our booth at Lilac Festival. Come with friends and family, have a coffee, and (hopefully) enjoy the weather! Contact info@afcalgary.ca with your availability.
