  TCF & TCF DAP

The TCF is the French language test of the French Ministry of Education; it is a comprehensive placement test for those who wish to obtain a quick, simple, effective and precise evaluation of their French language skills. It follows the six-level language proficiency scale used in classes at the AFC and is valid for up to two years.

Why take the TCF?
The TCF provides a snapshot of your proficiency in French that you may use for professional or academic reasons. The certification can be used to gain admission to French universities and Grandes écoles and is recognized by international agencies including the UN and the OECD.

The TCF includes:
three compulsory tests: listening comprehension, language structures and reading comprehension (90 minutes in total)
two optional tests: oral expression (15 minutes) and written expression (105 minutes).

The TCF DAP
If you are thinking of entering a bachelors program in a French University and do not have the DALF diploma or the DELF B2 diploma, the TCF DAP (demande d'admission préalable) will be necessary for your registration. The 2009-2010 TCF DAP session will be held on Nov. 27th at 2:00 pm.

The TCF DAP comprehends the three compulsory tests and a specialized written expression exam.
