Tété & Eric John Kaiser March 16th

Tété means "The Guide" in the Wolof language and indeed this artist of Caribbean and Senegalese origins has led a dazzling career. His passion for jazz and the Beatles influenced his music and he began playing piano at 9 years of age before turning to the guitar. The year 2000 was a turning point in his career. Spotted at barely 25 by the record label Epic, he has since played more than 115 concerts.

In 2002, reached a high point with his first nomination at the Victoires de la Musique.  Shortly after, he returned to writing songs. In his desire "to have colors and different themes, while emphasizing coherence ... to give evidence, while allowing the public to finish the story...", he will broaden the horizon of his musical influences: Nina Simone, M, Mathieu Boogaerts, Jacques Dutronc, Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, Chris Whitley, The Cardigans, Bjork, music of the 60's and 70's, hip-hop, classical, Jamaican music. He also draws inspiration from authors such as Sartre, Pennac, Allais and Sallinger.

Out of this period of creation will be born A La Faveur de l’Automne his second album released in 2003 which earned him the honor of being nominated at the Victoires de la Musique 2004 in the category "Revelation album of the year".

In 2006 he released his third album Le Sacre des Lemmings, et Autre Contes de la Lisière. The album exhibits his love for acoustic environments with texts which tend toward subversive optimism and lucidity and which can be interpreted on several levels.
His new single "Envy and contempt" suggests that his fourth album, Le Premier Clair de l’Aube (February 2010), will resemble those of previous titles: melancholic compositions inspired by English culture, rich in poetry.
