Delf and Dalf ExamINATIONs
The premier international certification for measuring French proficiency.
The DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify candidates' proficiency in French. These diplomas are recognized by many institutions and universities around the world and DELF-DALF exams centres are now present in more than 170 countries.
The DELF/DALF examinations align with the six different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
Our classes at the Alliance Française of Calgary use the same reference levels from beginner (A1) to the most advanced levels (C1/C2). The DELF B2 level gives access to programs in French in most francophone universities in France. It is now widely integrated to French curriculum in secondary school in Alberta.
The examination evaluates the four communication skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. An average grade of 50 out of 100 points is required to pass. Examinations are independent, and candidates can register for the examination of their choice.
