This exhibit was born out of Stéphanie Biky's desire to photograph monuments using pinhole photography. In Summer 2011, as she and Orion Carlisle were preparing for their first trip to France as a couple, she shared to him the idea to keep the memory of her heritage and to use the ancestor of photography: the pinhole camera. A few weeks later, Orion offered to Stéphanie four pinhole cameras to take on the trip. So this project became a collaboration, a sharing of their passion for images. They captured with a shoe box and a can a memory of France. With this exhibit they wish to share this with you, to simply enjoy as a legacy.

Band from Burkina Faso performing traditional music, dancing and storytelling
As part of the Black History Month 2012, join us for this show full of energy influenced by the culture of Burkina Faso. Discover various forms of artistic expression: music, dance, African tales.
Kientéga P. Gérard also known as "KPG", an internationally recognized French-speaking storyteller, will be joined by a musician and two dancers from Koombie Cultural Center in Burkina Faso.

The "Winds of France" blow into Calgary on february 6.
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Centre is considered to be the United States' premier repertory company for chamber music. The "Winds of France" program features masterpieces by Poulenc, Emmanuel, Maresz, Francaix and Ibert. Performing during the Calgary concerts will be Alessio Bax (piano), Tara Helen O'Connor (flute), Stephen Taylor (oboe), David Shifrin (clarinet), Peter Kolkay (bassoon) and William Purvis (horn).
