 DELF JUNIOR

The junior version of DELF has the same basic struEmily Cardston courtesy CPFcture as the standard DELF. Like the DELF, the DELF Junior exam is administered by the Centre International d'études pédagogoqiques. The DELF Junior version has subject matter adapted to the interests of adolescents.

The test is for children and adolescents between 7 and 14 years of age and is being implemented in Alberta school systems and in Canada . The diploma awarded is identical to the standard DELF diploma.

The examinations are independent, candidates can register for a level without any prerequisite for the examination of their choice. Each examination evaluates the four communication skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

There are four diplomas for teenagers and schoolchildren: A1, A2, B1 and B2 based on the CEFR. The courses for children and teens at the AFC are based on these same levels, and the Alliance Française offer DELF Exam prep courses.

The DELF exam is divided into two parts:

  • listening comprehension, written production, and written comprehension are tested in a written exam
  • speaking and oral interaction are tested in a one-on-one exam .
