Book Club- Les oubliés du dimanche

Discover Francophone Literature!

On Tuesday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Alliance Française, join us to talk about the book "Les oubliés du dimanche", a novel from 2015 that will evoke contradictory emotions, ranging from laughter to deep emotion, written by Valérie Perrin.

After an incredible book club on the book "Changer l'eau des fleurs" by the same author, we couldn't resist choosing to present for the next book club a new book signed by Valérie Perrin. Perrin's first book is a resounding success and wins several awards such as the 2016 Lions National Literature Prize, the 2016 Chronos Prize, the 2016 Lire Élire Intercommunal Prize, and the 2016 Poulet-Malassis Prize.

Please note that it is necessary to have read the book before the event.
Members can borrow the book from our library or purchase it from our partner Owl's nest.
The minimum level required is B2, but this event is also open to Francophones.

A propos de l'histoire:

Justine Neige is a 21-year-old woman who lives with her grandparents and her cousin, with whom she is very close since the death of their respective parents in a mysterious car accident when they were children. In addition, she works as a caregiver in a nursing home called "Les Hortensias," a job that she is passionate about. Among all her patients, Justine forms a special bond with Hélène Hel. Both of them confide in each other. On one side, we have Hélène, whose life is like a novel, a witness of World War II, and on the other, Justine, who gradually opens up about the tragedy that marked her childhood and that no one ever talks about at home.
